On a budget and looking to buy a slice of San Francisco for yourself? Today we combed the listings and have mapped the ten least expensive homes for sale in the Bayview. Six are under $500K, making them the newest additions to our very fabulous Under 500K Club. The most expensive is a 2,190-square-foot home that's asking $975K and is being advertised as ripe for development. Some of the homes have strings attached: short sales, iffy details on unwarranted rooms, etc. Let's get this party started.

Mapping the Ten Least Expensive Properties for Sale in Bayview

Section 8 Rental
Asking price: $399K
Size: 5-bed, 3-bath, 1,1932-square-foot single-family home
Price per square foot: $335
The skinny: This home is quite a handful. It's listed as a single-family home, but the listing details tell another story. The "upper level" is a 3-bed, 1-bath that's being rented for $1,751 per month (section 8). Downstairs is a 2-bedroom that's being rented for $1,100 per month. There's an unwarranted bonus room somewhere on the lower level.
2BR Single-Family Home
Asking price: $425K
Size: 2-bed, 1-bath, single-family home
Price per square foot: Unavailable
The skinny: Located in what is often referred to as "Bayview Heights," this is a fixer-upper just steps from Candlestick. Candlestick will soon be demolished to make room for condos and development, so that could increase the property value of this abode.
3BR Short Sale
Asking price: $450K
Size: 3-bed, 2-bath, 1,800-square-foot single-family home
Price per square foot: $250
The skinny: This is a short sale. The process for purchasing a short sale is long and tedious, and can end in heartbreak. Please discuss with your realtor before you fall in love with this place.
3BR Single-Family Home
Asking price: $458K
Size: 3-bed, 1.5-bath, 940-square-foot single-family home
Price per square foot: $487
The skinny: Unfortunately the listing's light with details on this place. We know the home sits on an uphill lot and has a private backyard. The kitchen's been upgraded.
2BR Single-Family Home
Asking price: $469,900K
Size: 2-bed, 1-bath, 1,000-square-foot single-family home
Price per square foot: $470
The skinny: This is another home in Bayview Heights. Unfortunately there are no interior photos, but the listing tells us that it "Needs TLC! Property sold AS IS!"
3BR Single-Family Home
Asking price: $499K
Size: 3-bed, 2-bath, 1,680-square-foot single-family home
Price per square foot: $297
The skinny: Plenty of curb appeal comes with this abode, though a little updating outside and in wouldn't hurt. The home's got an unwarranted inlaw. There's a big backyard that a deck.
3BR Townhome
Asking price: $599K
Size: 3-bed, 2-bath, 1,879-square-foot condo
Price per square foot: $319
The skinny: The first property on our map to be over $500K is a condo. It's a townhouse. There's parking in the garage for one car. It has multiple decks and views of the surrounding hills. It last sold in late 2012 for $275K.
8BR Single-Family Home
Asking price: $699K
Size: 8-bed, 5-bath, 2,875-square-foot single-family home
Price per square foot: $243
The skinny: If you're looking to house a soccer team or a big family, this is probably the home for you. The 3-story abode has eight bedrooms, ten if you convert a few extra rooms into bedrooms. The home's been updated and is move-in ready.
Maybe a 2BR Single-Family Home
Asking price: $726K
Size: 6-bed, 5-bath, 2,864-square-foot single-family home
Price per square foot: $253
The skinny: This is a bank-owned property that's going to be a hard sell. The listing tells us that "records say SFR, upon inspection, front entrance has 2 security gate with 2 doorbell." It also tells us that limited data is available (including interior photos) because "tenants not cooperating."
2BR Single-Family Home
Asking price: $975K
Size: 2-bed, 2-bath, 2,190-square-foot single-family home
Price per square foot: $445
The skinny: Unfortunately there are no interior photos of this property. It's being advertised as a contractor/developers special, so we're safe to assume it's a fixer-upper.
