Opening in 2006 as a residential conversion, the titularly ritzy units at the Ritz-Carlton Residences in downtown San Francisco have, as of late, cried out for a more sleek and contemporary feel. Well, that interior wish has been granted as 19 freshly made over condos have just been released inside the luxe tower.
The open-floor plan, Carrara-marble, antiseptic-decor trend doesn’t always work well. Inside a stately San Francisco Victorian or Edwardian, the results often come off awkward and out of place, rather than providing positive contrast. But not here.
