Originally built in 1917 as a warehouse and printing shop, 355 Bryant, located a few blocks from Oracle Park and South Park, was refashioned by David Baker Architects into live/work lofts in 1992 just prior to the first dot-com wave.

Today, a loft inside the brick structure lands on the market for a cool $1,299,000.

Featuring one bedroom and one and one half bathrooms, unit 309 comes with arched windows, hardwood flooring, a Juliette balconies, and a kitchen an island with a mini wine fridge and a raised glass countertop.

Baker’s firm made it a point to preserve much of the building’s industrial looks, including keeping the exposed timber—a blast of fresh air compared to the antiseptic, cookie-cutter lofts so common in SF. Although this loft was designed in the halcyon days of the ’90s, it still maintains a timeless vibe. Just rip out the dated strip track lighting and replace it with something smurfier like a few pendant globes.

The listing is through Jennifer Davis of Compass.
