Star of monumentally stupendous movies like Erin Brockovich, Notting Hill, August: Osage County (she really is running things now); and Pretty Woman, which features the greatest retail shopping scene in cinematic history, living icon and Oscar winner Julia Roberts has purchased a home in San Francisco’s Presidio Heights neighborhood.
Take that, Liberty Hill.
Roberts spent $8.3 million for a renovated Traditional/Victorian-style home, designed by architect Sylvain Schnaittacher and built between 1907-1908, in the city’s tony northern neighborhood, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The home features a painted shingled facade and comes with five bedrooms and four and one half bathrooms spread out across five floors. In all the house measures roughly 6,245 square feet.
Additional highlights include an office, a wet bar, a wood-paneled wine cellar, remodeled kitchen and bathrooms, a carpeted grand staircase, and bay windows galore. There’s also a balcony that offers views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Lovely.
As SFist points out, Roberts has been spotted in town as of late, most recently celebrating her birthday in the Outer Sunset. She also has a home in Malibu’s Point Dume and a co-op in New York City’s West Village, should she find San Francisco, where people have taken to wearing shorts and North Face jackets to the ballet, too provincial.
The listing was by Caroline Kahn Werboff of Sotheby’s International Realty.
