Update In light of recent mass shootings, security has been beefed up at entrance gates. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, “Double fencing will encircle the party. Extra police will patrol the perimeter. SWAT teams, plus private security, will roam the grounds.”
Starting Friday and lasting until Sunday night, San Francisco’s 12th annual Outside Lands Music and Arts festival will take place in Golden Gate Park. The resplendent Kacey Musgraves, including other artists, will take the stage during the three-day event, and scores of people will pour into Golden Gate Park to take it all in.
The annual event also comes with increased vehicular traffic and transit woes for locals, as Outside Lands is expected to draw roughly 225,000 people.
Per Richmond Blog SF—a great neighborhood blog with comprehensive details about the festival—venues in Golden Gate Park include the Polo Fields (main stage), Hellman Hollow, Marx Meadow, and Lindley Meadow. Gates open at 11 a.m. Friday through Sunday, with music beginning noon and ending at 10 p.m. (9:35pm on Sunday).
