Billed by the seller as a “jewel box floating home,” this houseboat in Sausalito is set apart from its floating neighbors. It comes with a verdigris-like diamond pattern on its exterior, as well as an ornamental rooftop dragon.

Featuring one bedroom, one bathroom, and 780 square feet, 24 Liberty Dock comes features radiant heated flooring, tiled walls in the kitchen and bathroom, exposed beams, washer and dryer, and a spacious deck with a southern exposure.

Asking is $895,000 through Steve Sekhon of Compass.

The Sausalito floating home community consists of more than 400 houseboats. The tight-knit group of residents and their maritime homes are so popular that they host a tour of their collective each summer. It’s an excellent way to step inside more than a dozen of these architectural treasures.

Among its past residents, Shel Silverstein, the late author of The Giving Tree and Where the Sidewalk Ends, once called this community home. His houseboat hit the market in 2017 for $390,000.
