Not that it’s a contest, but if it were, the impending Four Seasons tower would get the honor of priciest home in San Francisco right now. It’s asking for a blistering $49 million.
Designed by Handel Architects (the firm behind The Pacific and Rowan) and located in the Yerba Buena District, both the penthouse and the residential-only tower remain under construction for now, so full details for this top-floor home are sparse.
According to a spokesperson with Four Seasons Private Residences, the penthouse will include roughly 10,000 square feet of residential space (which brings it into mansion territory, spatially-speaking), 4,500 square feet of multiple outdoor terraces, a pool, and at least two floors of living space.
The penthouse will also have access to the building’s fifth floor club level overlooking Jessie Street Plaza. The lounge will come equipped with a staffed bar, five tables with fire elements. a poker table, and a VR sports simulator (golf and tennis, of course).
“It’s almost like a private club,” says Dilan Urun, the Four Seasons managing director of sales.
This pricey penthouse offering come on the heels of another sky-high home: 181 Fremont’s grand penthouse, which is on the market for $46 million. At this print point, it’s just spending money for the sake of spending money, a hobby that only a few locals can enjoy with abandon.
The 45-story, 510-foot Four Seasons tower, which uses the old Aroson Building as part of its construction, can be seen at Mission and Third streets. The exterior features a mix of floor-to-ceiling windows, an undulating stone facade, and the renovated circa-1903 structure.
Pricing for the 146 residences will begin at $2.5 million, the regular penthouse residences (11 in all) are priced in the $15 million to $25 million range, and the grand penthouse comes in at $49 million. The building is slated for completion in 2020.
