Here’s what people are Instagramming from Salesforce Park

The 1,000-foot fountain and palm trees are a hit

It’s been almost one week since the Transbay Transit Center and Salesforce Park—the $2.26-billion, Pelli Clarke Pelli-designed behemoth—opened to the public. After nearly a decade of construction, the center opened with scores of curious denizens waiting to peek inside and on top of the city’s newest transit hub.

While last weekend’s opening party proved an overwhelming affair—for many attendees, lines were too long to get up to the park level—this week the center played host to a more peaceful, serene gathering of worker drones checking out the space at lunchtime.

Naturally, folks took to Instagram to show their love for the new space (coincidentally, Instagram headquarters is located next door at 181 Fremont), showing off the structure’s form and functionality.

Among the many social media favorites at Salesforce Park: the 1,000-foot fountain, the 200-plus species of plants and trees, the ample grass, and canine shots. (Shhh: Dogs are technically verboten at the park.) Best of all, the raised park has already proved to be a great way to experience and absorb some of the architecture surrounding the area—a heightened vantage point that street level doesn’t offer.
