Eichler who?

Conceived by architect Benjamin Fishstein, which he used as his own residence, this midcentury gem in the Oakland Hills is most noteworthy for its overlapping diamond pattern.

Also of note, exposed structural beams, concrete chimney, and panes of glass meeting at razor-sharp angles bring a blast of drama to an otherwise tranquil hillside scene.

In a word, gorgeous. In another, drool.

Featuring four beds, three baths, and 2,581 square feet, 2160 Mastlands’ interiors boast a floating staircase, a concrete fireplace, a revamped kitchen and baths, builtins, floating shelves, exposed beams, and two decks. A refreshing change of pace from the slew of Eichlers studding Bay Area neighborhoods.

Built in 1961, this is the first time 2160 Mastlands has been listed publicly. Asking is $1,250,000. Expect it to sell over asking.
