Over in the Terra Linda neighborhood of San Rafael, purportedly one of the city’s most exclusive neighborhoods, one can find many a midcentury-modern specimen. ’Tis a red-letter day when a double decker Eichler comes our way.

Coming in at four beds, two and a half baths, and 1,783 square feet, 764 Beechnut was built in 1961, but has been upgraded over the years. In lieu of Eichler’s characteristic cork flooring, new Marmoleum floors with copper radiant heating have been added. And the new kitchen is a nice touch.

Fret not, purists, as many period details remain intact like the mahogany and redwood walls, a floating staircase, and an indoor terrarium. (However, some of you might clutch your pearls at the painted ceilings.)

Overall, a glorious Eichler. Asking is $1,350,000.
