By the sea—wouldn’t that be smashing?

The Sausalito floating home community, which consists of more than 400 houseboats, is just that—a community. The tight-knit group of maritime residents and their aquatic homes are so popular that each summer they host a tour of their collective, allowing the curious to step inside more than a dozen floating architectural treasures.

But you won’t have to wait until summer to see a prime specimen.

This week, a three-story home inside the residential harbor lands on the market: a three-bedroom, two-bath, 1,356-square-foot houseboat at 6 Liberty Dock. The circa-1987 property has been remodeled and now features an open-floor plan, wide-plank oak floors, fireplace, and Heath-tiled kitchen (how fitting).

It even comes with a roof deck and a south-facing exterior deck just off the living room.

Asking is $1,450,000.
