Castle-like Forest Hill home asks $2.8M

Fortress exterior delights, but the real treat waits inside

A turret with crenelations atop this Forest Hill home, which last appeared on the market in 2016, makes it an obvious standout. But the abode’s seemingly one-note whimsy shouldn’t put off potential buyers. Once behind the fantasy fortress-like facade, the real story can be found inside via a bevy of interiors that deserve just as much attention.

Featuring four beds, two and a half baths, and 3,244 square feet, 40 Dorantes comes with hardwood floors, arched portals, latticed windows, French doors, a tiled entryway, and most noteworthy, a semi-sweeping staircase inside the turret.

In a city rife with glamour-free staircases inside multimillion-dollar constructions, it’s nice to see a specimen fit for a dramatic party entrance.

Other highlights include a tiled patio and redwood deck.

Last sold in 2016 for $2,285,000 per Redfin, it’s back on the market asking $2,895,000.
