Burning Man photos: 2017’s best pop-up art and architecture

Annual bash in the desert turned out some of its most impressive work ever

Burning Man culminated over the holiday weekend. While the city of San Francisco proved hotter than the Nevada desert this year—a snarky ironic twist for those of us who eschewing the annual party under the blistering sun—the most eye-popping scenes were found in Black Rock City.

This year’s theme of “Radical Ritual” helped guide the many artists and creative minds who flock here annually to show off their works. A lot of tonal pieces were seen at the 2017 bacchanal, which looked especially against a backdrop of the desert’s blue skiey.

Sadly, the festivities ended on a tragic note after a man scummed to injuries after he jumped into the burning man effigy on the final night.

Here are the best scenes of the art that popped up last week.
