Beautiful East Bay home hopes to start ugly bidding war

Silicon Valley doesn’t have a lock on midcentury designs in the Bay Area. Take, for example, this simple yet stunning specimen in Oakland.

Built in 1950, 3520 Willis Court comes with three beds, two baths, and 1,619 square feet. Highlights include a courtyard (with the brick chimney’s back as a focal point), exposed beams, floor-to-ceiling windows, and hardwood floors.

The contemporary additions of track lighting and (ugh, make it stop) vessel sinks have no business here. Otherwise, a lovely abode that’s sure to spark interest.

Last sold in June of this year for $1,040,000, it returns three months later for the low-ball asking of $949,000. Which is to say, the current owners hope for a bidding war. Alas.
