Polarizing Bernal Heights Victorian renovation cuts $200K

Circa 1900 stunner turned Scandinavian-style head scratcher

Many had varied opinion on the “wedding cake” Victorian at 106 Coleridge in Bernal Heights, a home that went from majestic to minimal care of a $1 million makeover. Landing on the market in November for a cool $3.2 million, it’s since pruned $200,000 of its asking.

Architect Diego Pacheco helmed the house’s new design, doing away with wood moldings and wainscoting. (We went gaga over this abode back in 2012.)

“I have always been a huge fan of minimalism and clean modern design, so I clicked immediately with the owner who is from Denmark and appreciates the same aesthetic,” Pacheco told Curbed SF in 2016. “We wanted to create a juxtaposition between the existing wedding-cake facade and a crisp, minimal sensibility on the interior.”

Coming at five beds, four baths, and an estimated 3,015 square feet, it’s now asking $2,995,000.
