Mirrored art installation to replace Market Street’s Whispering Dishes

Peepshow will be installed just before spring

Created as part of the Market Street Prototyping Festival, Peepshow, a mirrored, tunnel-like structure described as “a cultural cross-sectionizer, a giant selfie machine,” will replace the popular Whispering Dishes at Market and Yerba Buena Lane this March.

In partnership with Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, David Baker Architects, and the San Francisco Planning Department, the 2016 version of the installation is stripped down compared to its previous incarnation, which used wood paneling.

Peepshow is, as described, an ideal place for selfies. Lots of mirrors. Lots of cutouts. This will make for some choice abstract images on Instagram, for sure. When Curbed SF visited it in the summer of 2016, it was one of our favorites.
