In high-rise development news, two new buildings started work on their curtain walls recently. First up, the impending (and unconfirmed) Virgin Hotel on Fourth Street in SoMa.
As Curbed SF previously reported, megabrand Virgin allegedly plans on opening their second U.S. hotel (the country’s first opened in Chicago in 2015) next to the impending Fourth Street Central Subway stop.
While very little has been reported on the upcoming hotel—the company has been hush-hush—the new hotel, should it come to fruition, would open sometime in 2017. Hopefully.
Meanwhile, over in the Financial District, the facadism underway at 350 Bush, the old SF Mining Exchange Building, is coming along nicely.
Designed by Heller Manus, the tower has already sparked the interest of Twitch. The game-streaming site has signed a lease for a 185,000-square-feet space inside the high-rise.
350 is slated to open next year.
