Unapologetically Grandiose Ross Mansion Asks $22,900,000

New, 6 comments

Massive abode comes with an underground wine cellar, Sky Walker Ranch-approved theater, and more than enough window treatments

This gargantuan Ross mansion, located at 27 Upper Road, is giving us Sunny Von Bülow mixed with Norma Desmond folded into whipped up tech money.

The 12,500-square-foot palace features seven bedrooms, eight and a half baths, and plenty of decor that could probably use a widespread freshening up.

Harking back to another era—a couple of them, in fact—it’s hard to believe it was built as recently as 1992.

Details include double-height foyer with wrought iron doors, marble floors; formal living room with Frescoed ceilings, movie theater ("built by Sky Walker Ranch theater professionals," boasts the listing), and a 31,000-bottle wine cave 60-feet underground.

"I last sold it to a tech billionaire in 1999 for $20 million," Olivia Hsu Decker tells Curbed SF. "He was only 32 at the time!"

Not for the understated or minimalistic, this manse also features several gardens—organic vegetable, lavender, Japanese hydrangea—four honeybee hives, and a limestone facade guest house (with its own private gym).

Asking is $22,900,000.
