Here Are Your SF Pride Weekend Street Closures and Muni Disruptions

Here we go, folks

If you’re even thinking about driving into the city this weekend, don’t. Seriously. The city will be a mess, traffic- and otherwise.

Starting today, San Francisco Pride festivities get underway, starting with the Trans March in Dolores Park. And with that comes a bunch of street closures and Muni reroutes for the upcoming weekend.

Friday: Before the march, there will be a brunch and rally in Dolores Park, with the march happening at 6 p.m. at Dolores and 18th streets and ending at Turk and Taylor.

The following street closures will be happen tonight from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m:

  • Taylor Street between Ellis and Eddy streets
  • Eddy Street between Taylor and Jones streets

Also of note, these street closures beginning today:

  • Grove Street between Polk and Larkin streets will be closed until 6 a.m., Monday
  • Fulton Street between Hyde and Larkin streets will be closed until 3 p.m., Monday
  • Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place between McAllister and Grove streets
  • Polk Street between Grove and Market streets
  • Dr. Tom Wadell Place between Van Ness Avenue and Polk Street
  • Larkin Street between McAllister and Market streets
  • Grove Street between Hyde Street and Van Ness Avenue
  • Intersections: Grove and Polk streets, Polk Street and Lech Walesa, and Grove and Larkin streets.

The following lines will be affected during tonight’s Trans March:

  • F Market
  • J Church
  • 5 Fulton
  • 5R Fulton Rapid
  • 6 Haight/Parnassus
  • 7 Haight/Noriega
  • 7R Haight/Noriega Rapid
  • 9 San Bruno
  • 9R San Bruno Rapid
  • 19 Polk
  • 21 Hayes
  • 22 Fillmore
  • 33 Ashbury/18th
  • 47 Van Ness
  • 49 Van Ness/Mission
  • 7 Haight/Noriega
  • 7R Haight/Noriega Rapid

Saturday:

The Dyke March starts at 6 p.m. in Dolores Park and heads to from Dolores Street along 18th Street to Valencia Street to 16th Street and up into the Castro.

Dolores Street between 17th and 20th streets will be closed from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The following Muni lines and routes will be affected:

  • F Market & Wharves
  • J Church
  • 22 Fillmore
  • 24 Divisadero & Owl
  • 33 Ashbury/18th
  • 35 Eureka
  • 37 Corbett
  • 55 16th Street

Other closures of note starting on Saturday:·

  • McAllister Street between Van Ness Avenue and Hyde Street
  • Intersections: Larkin and Polk streets at McAllister
  • Hyde Street between McAllister and Market streets
  • Intersections: Grove and Fulton streets at Hyde Street
  • Golden Gate Avenue between Van Ness Avenue and Leavenworth Street
  • An extension of Polk, Larkin and Hyde streets northerly to Turk Street
  • All alleys within the closure boundary

Sunday:

The parade starts at 10:30 a.m. from the lower Market Street formation area at Market and Beale streets, proceeding west on Market to Hyde and 8th streets, where it will funnel off from 8th Street. Don’t even dream of driving into this area, because you can’t.

Market Street from Steuart Street to Van Ness Avenue will be closed for the parade. All intersections will be closed to cross traffic, which should end at around 5 p.m.

The following streets will be close on Sunday:

  • Beale Street from Market to Folsom streets
  • Main Street from Market to Folsom streets
  • Spear Street from Market to Folsom streets
  • Steuart Street from Market to Folsom streets
  • Market Street from Beale to Steuart streets

All Muni lines that typically run on Market Street will be rerouted to Mission Street, just one block away.

Muni Impacts

Service that normally travels on or crosses Market Street will be affected by the parade. The following lines and routes will be affected:

  • F Market
  • 2 Clement
  • 3 Jackson
  • 5 Fulton
  • 6 Haight/Parnassus
  • 7 Haight/Noriega
  • 8 Bayshore
  • 9 San Bruno
  • 10 Townsend
  • 12 Folsom
  • 14 Mission
  • 14R Mission Rapid
  • 19 Polk
  • 21 Hayes
  • 25 Treasure Island
  • 27 Bryant
  • 30 Stockton
  • 31 Balboa
  • 38 Geary
  • 38R Geary Rapid
  • 45 Union/Stockton
