NSFW: What Is This Worker Doing to the New “Venus” Statue? [Update]

Oh dear

While we here at Curbed SF bring you the latest real estate, housing, and the rental market news, rarely do share anything that could be deemed not safe for work. Until today.

Poring over images of the new 92-foot-tall Venus statue at Mid-Market, we came across one particularly jarring image of what appears to be a construction worker with his pants down around his legs and, well, see for yourself.

This doesn’t appear to be the first time this person has exposed himself in a construction work environment and then posted the results to Instagram. Here are some other questionable NSFW photos that the subject(s) published on a public social media account.

Curbed SF reached out to Trinity Place for comment. We will update as soon as we hear back.

Update I: Walter Schmidt, CEO of Trinity Properties, reached out to Curbed SF with the following statement: “We are appalled, saddened, and disgusted by the posting of the photo of what appears to be an individual on our project site defiling the Venus statue. We pity the misguided individual who took it upon himself to desecrate a magnificent work of art and the beauty and love it represents."

Update II: Less than 24 hours after this story went live, the account in question removed the featured image (now attached as a screen shot) and the provided links.
