$9M Pacific Heights Mansion Features Chic Attic

New, 5 comments

With a home this charming, why would you want to leave?

Boasting over 6,000 square feet, this Pacific Heights/Cow Hollow mansion also features an attic space so quaint and so adorable that it could even calm the frayed nerves of Jane Eyre's Bertha Mason.

But first, the details: this Edwardian at 2808 Vallejo comes with six bedrooms and 4.5 baths, hardwood floors, a gourmet kitchen, and a sweet deck (seriously) overlooking the San Francisco Bay.

But the attic is what's particularly noteworthy. The vaulted wood ceilings, painted white, give it a refreshingly retro shabby-chic feel. Ideal as a guest room for out of town relatives or a playpen for your wee ones.

Also of note are the many built-ins as well as the mirrored coffer ceiling in the dining room, if that's your kind of thing.

The only drawback we can see is the wall-to-wall carpeting in a few of the rooms. No matter. The buyer, one suspects, would be able to afford a nice wood floor-finish make over.

The last time the house was purchased was in 1996 for only $2,325,000.
