At the intersection of 35th Avenue and Cabrillo Street, this house is a bit northwest of Sea Cliff. But you could say that 797 35th Avenue has a Sea Cliff price and Pacific Heights style. It has just undergone a major renovation that has given it features that include four bedrooms with en suite baths (there are two more besides), an exercise room, and three gas fireplaces. The new look comes with a new price: $3.5 million.
You get large amounts of contemporary style for the money. If you are looking for a period-perfect home, this is not it. The interior has more modern than vintage features. Inside, you find glass-and-metal staircases, a wet bar, and a modern kitchen with distinctively patterned cabinets.
You also get considerable square footage. The large Edwardian measures 3,700 square feet per the contractor. Looking at the other listings on the market in this neighborhood, it's roughly 1,000 square feet larger than other single family houses currently offered. This isn't counting the two-car garage, which is a rarity on this side of town—or any side, for that matter.
The thing that isn't sizable is the yard, judging from the photos. But given that this home is one block from Golden Gate Park, that might not pose a problem for many buyers.
The website officially launches tonight.
