Under $1M Club: Midcentury Mod Home in Ingleside Heights

These days, when we spot a single-family home for under a $1 million in San Francisco, it's news. When we find a home under the million mark that's not screaming for a remodel, it's surprising. When a home like that measures 1,184 square feet, has three bedrooms, and a two-car garage, do we call it a miracle? Not sure we are ready to overstate it, but let's just say this 1961-era home that is sleek, clean, totally livable, and asking for $779,000 deserves a look.

The vaguely International Style of the home at 154 Ramsell Street is recognized as the lines of the Mad Men era the world over. Inside, it's well-maintained, with many midcentury features intact. For purists, the newer kitchen, the updated bathrooms, and the mullioned windows, though perfectly serviceable, would not ring true to the era.

The backyard is described as low maintenance which, in translation, means covered in concrete. However, it's a good size, so there's potential there.

Ingleside Heights is on the south side of town, walking distance to Lake Merced and near Stonestown Mall and BART.

Given the deficit of homes in this price range, we are sure this one will get some attention.
