An announcement from the Super Bowl 50 Host Committee underscores the fact that, while the game is being played in Santa Clara on February 7, the show will be in San Francisco. Alicia Keys will be playing a free concert in Super Bowl City—a venue being set up in Sue Bierman Park from January 30 through the first week of February. The 15-time Grammy winner's concert will cap off the festivities on February 6.
Who will proceed and open for Keys? At this point, that is anyone's guess. For now, officials are cryptic about it, merely saying: "Additional performers and the stage schedule will be announced in the coming weeks."
In an earlier report, the host committee promised the acts will be a mix of local musicians, bigger acts, and some nonprofit groups. Stay tuned.
