New Noe Valley Town Square Officially Breaks Ground

After years of planning and fundraising, the Noe Valley Town Square officially broke ground yesterday on the site of a former parking lot. The space has held the Noe Valley Farmers Market for over a decade, a role it will continue to play in its new form. The site is now set to be transformed into a community centerpiece with new trees and plantings, a tot play area complete with a climbing wall, a trellis canopy covered in vines, and lots of seating.

The Farmers Market will be moving out into 24th Street between Sanchez and Vicksburg streets on Saturdays while its future home is under construction. For now, the site is fenced while the first phase of construction kicks off. The new town square is set to open to the public next fall.
