After a delay, the south side of Dolores Park reopened last night with a "Light Up Dolores" theme (festivities started at 4 p.m. and partygoers were encouraged to wear illuminated clothing and accessories). It was a scene on the ground, but it turns out it was a spectacle from the sky. The Children's Day School campus is in a renovated church on the perimeter of the park and Rico Tan, the CDS director of technology, sent us this very cool drone footage of the event.
The student body professes their love for the park in the opening shot. Will the rest of the city be as affectionate? The test will come when the weekend hordes descend.
