When a full-floor co-op at Pacific Heights' prestigious 2288 Broadway listed back in July for $9 million, we wondered if it was really just trying to show us how much overstuffed furniture can be fit into one 4,000 square-foot space. The prissy apartment hadn't been sold in a generation, and its age showed in the pastel color scheme and dated dual dishwashers of the kitchen. Buyers did not jump at the chance to spend $9 million. It sold this week, but the final price was just $7.5 million, presumably leaving the new owners some cash for much-needed renovations.
Of course, any extra cash might get swallowed up by the whopping $3,263 per month HOA fees. Building amenities do include a doorman and two parking spots, but that's enough cash per month to pay for a decent one-bedroom apartment (at least for now).
