With temperatures set to soar—at least by San Francisco standards—again this weekend, a backyard pool sure does sound nice. But pools are seriously rare amenities in the city, as we discovered last week when we found just two houses on the market with pools. One of those is already in contract, but it has been replaced by a Castro condo that just went up for sale that boasts a saltwater lap pool out back accompanied by a cabana and a big grill area. The two-bedroom, two-level condo, which is asking $1.499 million, is otherwise rather ordinary.
The condo is one of two tucked into an Edwardian building that gives no indication from its exterior that there's something special out back. The interiors are simple but updated, with a brand new master bathroom. The lower-level master bedroom looks out over that unique backyard, which is deeded to the condo. The upstairs condo also looks out over the pool, so the one downside to this place might be constant requests from your neighbors on hot days to come over for pool parties.
