Property values in San Francisco have risen by $11.7 billion over the past year, according to city assessor-recorder Carmen Chu, who just finished assessing more than 200,000 plots of real estate. The value of all the property in the city is $191 billion, which is a 6.5 percent increase over the previous year. Chu says that the increase is due largely to new construction and changes in property ownership. [Kron4]
