Airbnb says that San Francisco will lose $58 million in tax revenue over the next 10 years if a ballot measure capping short-term rentals at 75 days per year is approved by voters in November. Airbnb came up with that figure by analyzing its own listing data. The study follows an analysis by the city that concluded that the cost to the city's economy from each Airbnb home outweighed the economic benefits from visitor spending, host income, and hotel taxes.
