Over in Concord's Rancho del Diablo neighborhood, a four-bedroom, two-bath Eichler with an in-ground pool is asking $595K. The 1963 home has hung onto many of its original details, from mahogany walls to globe lights, plus a largely orignal-looking kitchen, for better or worse. The plank ceilings have been painted white, which will irk purists, and the floors are a stained concrete. The brokerbabble smooths out the pros and cons by calling this "a great opportunity to customize," which, given that this is the suburbs and you can still get something for well under $1 million, is a real possibility for some buyers. The pool out back even has a simple cabana, though it's got nothing on this poolside mini-Eichler.
