Treasure Island's major upcoming makeover includes more than just a whole lot of new housing. The island is also set to get $50 million in public art, all of which will sit on open space accessible to the public. Some of that art will be extremely inventive, with ideas like treasure hunts, dance performances, and light displays being tossed around in the earliest planning stages. [KQED]
