After a Kickstarter campaign to fund a walk-in movie theater in Hayes Valley fell well short of its $150,000 fund-raising goal, a new nonprofit called Here for Now will start raising funds for the theater. The nonprofit was set up by architecture and design firm envelope A+D, which is responsible for the Proxy community space along Octavia Boulevard, where the theater would sit. A fall film festival could still be in the works, but only if enough money comes in to underwrite things like a $67,000 digital projector. [Previously; Hoodline]
