Palace Upgrade

Seven developers are currently competing for the right to restore and operate the space attached to the Palace of Fine Arts that used to hold the Exploratorium museum. Proposals include hotels, athletic facilities, a museum, a market hall, and a yoga center and spa. Rec and Park, which is managing the search for a new tenant, plans to narrow down the list by November to a selection of finalists who will submit full proposals. The winner is expected to be chosen next spring. [SFGate]
