With eight days left to go in its Kickstarter campaign, The Last Black Man in San Francisco has surpassed its fund-raising goal of $50,000 and collected support from more than 1,000 backers. The film is set to tell the story of Jimmie Fails, who grew up in San Francisco and saw his family lose the home that his grandfather had built back in the 1940s. The team behind that film is now aiming to get 1,200 backers as proof that people want the film to be made and seen. [Kickstarter; Previously]
