A small, hidden staircase on Waller Street next to Buena Vista Park is being renamed to honor 91-year-old Adah Bakalinsky, a dedicated walker of the city and the author of Stairway Walks in San Francisco. The stairway will get a plaque in Bakalinsky's honor and a light makeover that includes the addition of plants that can be used by birds, butterflies, and other small fauna. The staircase has 91 steps and views out across the city. [Hoodline]
