Fun with Urban Planning

The city council of Dublin rejected a large mixed-use development proposal last week over concerns about overcrowded schools, traffic, and too much new housing. The Dublin Green project from developer Lennar Commercial would have created 372 new units, high-end retail, restaurants, and a public green within walking distance of the Dublin/Pleasanton BART station. Dublin does have nearly 8,800 approved residential units currently in its pipeline. [Contra Costa Times]
