The Air Is Spared

A new report from the American Lung Association says that California's air is getting cleaner and that smog has dropped by at least 58 percent in every Bay Area county since 2000. San Francisco received an A in the smog category, as did Marin, Sonoma, and San Mateo counties. The American Lung Association notes that stronger tailpipe emissions standards for cars are a big reason behind the good result, but we have to think that the popularity of the Prius, which is basically every other car on the road in northern California, has something to do with it.
