Bay Area Bike Share could get a huge expansion thanks to a new proposal from the Bay Area Metropolitan Transportation Commission to expand the number of bikes by 7,000. There are currently only about 700 bicycles available around San Francisco, Redwood City, Mountain View, Palo Alto and San Jose. If the proposal is approved, the bikes would arrive by 2017.
