License to Twerk

A three-person team at the California Department of Motor Vehicles reviewed more than 100,000 applications for vanity license plates last year and denied about 25 every day. Rejected plates included everything from references to guns and drugs to "SIXHIX," which was requested by a family of six that "live a country lifestyle." The DMV responded that "hick can be an insult." Other rejected plates included "TWERKK," "EF CANCR" and all references to red, blue, the number 13, the number 14 (for gang-related reasons), and the inevitable "NOT SEE." [SFGate]
