Three new solar-powered electric-vehicle charging stations are launching around San Francisco to demonstrate how electricity for car charging can come from renewable sources. The stations are now located at the Stonestown Galleria Mall parking lot, the parking lot at the Embarcadero and Green Street, and a City CarShare lot on 17th and Shotwell, but they will rotate to new locations every three months. The stations were put into place by an organization called Charge Across Town, which will donate the stations to the three most popular sites at the end of the year. [CNET]
