Eviction Wars

Tenants of the anticapitalist live-work community Station 40 at 16th and Mission streets held a protest at the 16th Street BART plaza to protest their upcoming eviction. The building is zoned as commercial space, and its owners claim that they rented it out as an arts space and did not know that it was being used for housing. Tenants are pushing the landlords to sell the building to the Community Land Trust, at which point it would become collectively owned and the tenants could stay, but the current owners say that they do not want to sell.
