Battle of the Waterfront

After having its day in court yesterday, the lawsuit challenging Prop B, San Francisco's ballot measure that requires voter approval for all waterfront developments that exceed current height limits, has moved ahead. The suit was filed by the California State Land Commission, which argues that port property is under state control, not local voter control. The state also says that it needs new developments on port properties to close a budget shortfall. The next arguments in the lawsuit are scheduled to be heard in May. [Previously; SF Business Times]
