What $2,500/Month Rents You in San Francisco

New, 6 comments

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various San Francisco neighborhoods. Is one man's studio another man's townhouse? Let's find out! Today's price: $2,500.

↑ A charming studio adjacent to Twin Peaks and near UCSF in Diamond Heights just came onto the rental market asking $2,495/month. The apartment has what appears to be a sunny and spacious (and private) patio, as well as new stainless steel appliances in the kitchen. We're especially digging all the brick and floor-to-ceiling wood paneling. Pets are OK, and there's laundry in the building and parking on the street.

↑ Do check out this one-bedroom plus den in the Inner Richmond if space is what you require. The newly remodeled rent-controlled unit is asking $2,450/month and has a private entrance. There's also a shared yard. No pets, unfortunately, and no mention of laundry or parking.

↑ Located in a neighborhood that's known for its studio apartments, this one-bedroom ground-floor apartment in the Tendernob stands out. The unit has hardwood floors and is asking $2,500/month. It's also charming—there are high ceilings and architectural details throughout. No pets or parking provided, but there's laundry in the building.

↑ This one-bedroom apartment in the Inner Sunset would be absolutely flawless if not for the gray carpet throughout. Otherwise we love it, and the $2,495/month rent in a town that's averaging more than $3,000/month for a one-bedroom makes it seem like a steal. It's also a mere block from Golden Gate Park—which makes us sad that no pets are allowed. There's no mention of laundry, and parking is on the street.

↑ This big (well, 800 square feet) one-bedroom apartment in the Outer Richmond has some serious perks. The kitchen was recently remodeled and has stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. There's a shared backyard, and the unit comes with its own spot in a covered garage. The hardwood floors, windows—it's all been updated. There's also free laundry in the garage. Rent's $2,495/month.
