San Francisco's new law that requires landlords to file forms and provide disclosures while negotiating buyouts with tenants has been challenged with a new lawsuit. The groups behind the lawsuit, all of which represent landlords, say that the law violates the right to free speech of both landlords and tenants and violates the landlords' right to privacy because their identities and the amount they pay tenants will be revealed. The law is meant to keep tenants from feeling pressured into signing buyout agreements and help them understand buyout pricing. [SFGate]
