The Exploratorium is behind a new temporary parklet on Valencia between 23rd and 24th streets that brings the museum's laid-back, hands-on stylings to the topic of sustainable water use. Orchestrated by students from the San Francisco Boys & Girls Clubs and a team from the museum's Studio for Public Spaces, the parklet features a rain gauge, a desalination pump, and a low-evaporation plant watering device—along with the seating and greenery you'd expect from a mini-oasis in two parking spots.
