49ers Tight End Vernon Davis Selling San Jose Mansion for Nearly $2.5M

New, 1 comment

49ers tight end Vernon Davis has put his home — well, one of his homes — on the market for nearly $2.5 million. The 4-bed, 4.5-bath, 4,073-square-foot San Jose abode listed this month for $2,449,888. Davis purchased the home in mid-2012 for $1.98 million, though it had been listed at the time for $2.1 million.

The news isn't shocking. According to Niners Nation, "Davis is one of several players who is a candidate to be released for salary cap reasons." It's also not uncommon for folks with a real estate portfolio as thick as Davis' to do a shuffle every once in a while. That logic especially makes sense when you're dealing with one of the hottest real estate markets in the country: a gated community in Silicon Valley.

The home's located on a desirable plot in the well-to-do neighborhood of Silver Creek Valley Country Club, where the medium list is closer to $1 million than $900k. In fact, other homes near the Davis property are on the market for more: a 5-bedroom home is listed for $2.275 million; a custom built 6,700-square-foot home is asking $3.995 million. There's even an empty lot for sale just down the road that's asking a mere $1.799 million.

Unfortunately there are no interiors photos at the moment, which is especially disappointing since Davis' is a noted interior designer.
