Luxury on the 101?

After its first tower went up in 2008, the troubled Centennial Towers office development—which you may recognize as the wavy glass building perched right on the 101 in South San Francisco—spent four years struggling to lure office tenants. Now, the planned second tower may turn into 20 stories of luxury condos rather than additional office space. Myers Development has submitted schematics to South San Francisco seeking the option to build 360 condos, which would make the tower one of the area's largest residential projects in years—and the only instance in recent memory linking the concept of luxury with that stretch of 101.
