Only 15 percent of the homes for sale in San Francisco are affordable to the middle class, according to a sad charticle from BloombergBusiness. By this metric, at least, that makes SF less affordable than both New York (25 percent) and Los Angeles (22 percent). Among major US cities, the most affordable is Chicago, where you can get a downmarket home for a bit more than the price of a New York parking space. [BloombergBusiness]
