It was only four months ago that the spectacular, elaborate Victorian at 630 Page Street sold for $3.45 million to Mark Stoermer, a member of rock band The Killers. He beat out four other offers at the time to win the place for more than half a million over asking. Stoermer put the property back on the market shortly after—a casualty of his busy schedule, according to listing agent John Woodruff. He was asking the same price he'd paid but didn't find a quick buyer. Now, that price has been dropped down to $3.299 million, $146,000 less than the sale earlier this year.
The house has gotten some new, milder staging and fresh listing photos since we last took a look at it. Its detailing is now on display instead of battling it out against patterned rugs. The house has a white marble kitchen, a big garage, and a back garden complete with a Spanish fountain and separate cottage. Its intense Victorian-ness won't be a fit for every buyer, but we're surprised to see it struggling after such a fast summer sale. Is this yet another sign that the luxury market really is starting to cool?
